Ever thought…
…”How are they so much more successful than me?”
…”Why does it seem like they have so much more time than I do?”
…”Why am I not as productive as them?”
Quite often we look at highly successful people and try and rationalise why they are so much more successful than ourselves, maybe they were just ‘lucky‘, they were ‘given‘ opportunities, their life has been ‘easier‘.
The truth is, we all have similar challenges, but the difference with those who are able to overcome them and become highly successful are just a few simple habits. Here are 5 habits of highly successful people which you can start implementing now to increase your productivity and your success.
1/ They are ORGANISED.
They plan, they prepare, they know where everything is. Not only does this enable them to be more structured in their mind but it saves them time so that they can get on with creating their success.
2/ They Read – a lot.
The average CEO READS on average 60 books a year (this is over 1 a week). They absorb information, they grow their knowledge base, they think more and they then utilise this knowledge in their work to help them to think of new ideas, improve the systems they adopt, how they interact with other people.
(But if 60 is too much for you to start with, just increase your book count by +5 a year and see how things change for you.)
3/ They take action.
They don’t sit around and wait, they make countless decisions every day and take action. This enables them to get moving, so fail fast, to learn fast and to succeed fast.
So next time you find yourself procrastinating, just make a decision, if doesn’t have to be perfect, but remember no decision is a decision, but a decision in which you achieve nothing.
4/ They don’t aim to be busy, they try to be productive.
Time is a commodity and a very precious one. Highly successful people don’t want to waste it. So they take action that is going to create value, rather than action that is just keeping them busy. They take the action that is going to help them to achieve their goals, quicker.
5/ They surround themselves with the right people.
The people who inspire them, the people who they aspire to be, the people who make them think and to push them to achieve more.
